 Committees

Habitat Committees

Lincoln/Lancaster  County  Habitat  for  Humanity  Committees, chaired by a Board member, are composed of community volunteers who are dedicated to eliminating sub-standard housing, improving the lives of our citizens, and bettering our community. Each committee focuses on a key part of the process which leads to a build and assists our families in achieving successful home ownership. Committees meet as needed. If you are interested in serving on any of the committees, or want to know more, request more information.  Find where you might fit.

 Faith Relations
This group works in partnership with churches by offering the opportunity for members to engage in ministry by becoming involved with Habitat. People who are interested in developing our faith community partnership are welcome.

Family Selection
Committee members screen applicant families for Habitat home ownership.

Family Partners
Family Partner committee members assist both before and after construction to ensure that families know the requirements of their Habitat partnership.

Construction
Committee members work with all aspects of the construction process. This level of involvement is for people who have an interest and knowledge of home construction.

Site Selection
This group identifies potential sites for construction.   If you have real estate, construction, or development background, you would be an asset to this committee.

Finances/Financial Partners
This committee works with lending institutions and credit counselors.  Volunteers with a background in banking or credit counseling would be helpful.

Fundraising
This group develops and implements fundraising strategies. People who have experience or talent in donor development, creating fundraising materials, and grant writing should join this committee.

Marketing/Public Relations
Members of this commitee assist us with public communication about our mission and activities. People who have marketing background, can write articles for newsletters, work with local media, and communicate well with the general public about the virtues and needs of Habitat should join this committee.

Volunteer Coordination
Committee members recruit, retain and recognize our dedicated volunteers. Consider this committee if you have successful experience working with and leading volunteers.

Our Meetings
Please note we have a code of conduct at all of our meetings and job sites. As a Christian organization, excessive foul language is prohibited. We are also a drug, alcohol and tobacco free employer. Therefore no drugs, alcohol or cigarette smoking is allowed at any meeting or job site.
