Some of Our Lincoln/Lancaster County Habitat Homes

 How We Build Habitat Homes

Lincoln/Lancaster County Habitat for Humanity has built over 100 homes, in partnership with the homeowners, our volunteers, and our donors, housing over 500 children and adults. Habitat’s modestly sized homes fit families’ needs without wasting space. Our philosophy is to reduce waste, recycle everything possible and take advantage of energy efficiencies during construction. In some cases, we demolish dilapidated housing, clear the lot, and build a simple, decent house -- a blessing not only to our family, but the neighborhood, as well.

Each project requires 2000 - 3000 hours of volunteer time, with families contributing more than 400 hours of building time as their down payment.

Our faith, business, and community partners contribute funding, labor, act as site hosts, and provide lunch to our construction volunteers.  Their help offers our homeowners a hand up, not a hand out (watch below).  Learn more about volunteer options at the job site.
